Alana Heaven - Bio

Alana Heaven is a Clinical Nurse Specialist specializing in Anaesthetics and Recovery at The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. With a diverse healthcare background, Alana brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as a New Zealand-trained Anaesthetic Technician, as well as her time in Paramedic. This extensive foundation laid the groundwork for her successful transition to nursing, where she completed a Masters in Nursing Science to further enhance her expertise.

In her current role, Alana is responsible for providing specialized care to paediatric patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. She is skilled in anaesthesia and airway management, patient monitoring, and recovery, and is deeply committed to optimizing patient outcomes. Alana also plays a key role in mentoring new nurses, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle the unique challenges of paediatric anaesthetics and recovery care.
